You Just Did Something Extraordinary. Your Body Deserves Real Support.
Postpartum chiropractic care serving Chandler, Gilbert, Queen Creek, and the greater East Valley — helping mamas recover, rebuild, and thrive in the fourth trimester and beyond.
The baby is here. Everyone wants to know how the baby is doing.
But what about you?
The postpartum period is one of the most physically and neurologically demanding seasons of a woman’s life — and it is also one of the most under-supported. Most new mamas are sent home from the hospital with instructions to rest and return for a six-week checkup. Six weeks is a long time when your body is struggling, your pelvis is out of alignment, your neck aches from nursing around the clock, and nobody is asking if you are okay.
We are asking.
At Culture Chiropractic, we believe postpartum care is not optional. It is essential. And you deserve to receive it from a doctor who has been exactly where you are.
WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR BODY AFTER BIRTH
Your Body Just Went Through a Seismic Event
Whether you delivered vaginally or by cesarean, your pelvis, sacrum, and entire structural system went through extraordinary change — and now has to find a new equilibrium while you simultaneously care for a newborn on very little sleep.
The physical demands of new motherhood compound the recovery challenge:
- Nursing and feeding positions round the upper back and strain the neck and shoulders for hours every day
- Babywearing, carrying, and rocking load the spine in ways it is not always prepared for
- Car seat buckling — endlessly — strains the low back and hips
- Sleep deprivation increases muscle tension and reduces the nervous system’s ability to regulate and recover
- Hormonal fluctuation affects ligament laxity and structural stability
Without support, these patterns become ingrained. The tension that develops in the early postpartum weeks can solidify into chronic issues that follow a woman for years.
With support, recovery is faster, more complete, and far more comfortable.
WHAT POSTPARTUM CHIROPRACTIC CARE ADDRESSES
This Is What We Focus On:
Pelvic Realignment The sacrum and pelvis are almost always significantly shifted after birth — both vaginal and cesarean deliveries create structural changes that need to be assessed and corrected. Restoring pelvic balance supports healing of the pelvic floor, the surrounding ligaments, and the entire lower body.
Upper Back, Neck, and Shoulder Tension Nursing posture is notoriously hard on the upper spine. Forward head position, rounded shoulders, and the repetitive load of holding and feeding a baby create patterns of tension that — left unaddressed — become chronic. We address these patterns proactively so they do not follow you into the months and years ahead.
Nervous System Support The postpartum nervous system is under enormous demand. Hormonal fluctuation, sleep deprivation, and the profound identity shift of new motherhood all tax the body’s ability to regulate. Chiropractic care — specifically the nervous-system-focused techniques we use — supports the body’s ability to adapt, stabilize, and find its new normal.
Cesarean Recovery Support C-section recovery involves healing from major abdominal surgery while caring for a newborn — one of the most physically demanding combinations imaginable. We work alongside your OB to provide gentle, appropriate spinal and pelvic support during the recovery process, always respecting your healing timeline.
The Mental Load We know this is not strictly structural — but the nervous system does not separate the physical from the emotional. Patients consistently report improvements in mood, energy, and stress resilience under postpartum chiropractic care. The body and mind recover together.
DR. STEPHANIE'S PERSONAL PERSPECTIVE
She Has Been Exactly Where You Are.
Dr. Stephanie has navigated three postpartum recoveries herself — under chiropractic care each time. She knows what it feels like to be depleted, touched out, and holding everyone else together while quietly wondering when you are going to feel like yourself again.
She also knows what it feels like to have your body genuinely supported through that season — and how different recovery looks when you have the right care.
That lived experience shapes every postpartum patient she sees. She is not just clinically skilled. She genuinely gets it.
WHEN TO COME IN
Timing Your Postpartum Care
We typically recommend:
- After vaginal birth: Around two to four weeks postpartum, once initial healing is underway
- After cesarean birth: Around four to six weeks postpartum, in coordination with your OB’s clearance
Every recovery is different and we always adapt to where you are. If you are unsure whether you are ready, text us and we will talk it through with you.
The sooner within those windows the better. The structural patterns that develop in the early postpartum period can become established quickly. Early intervention means faster, more complete recovery.
A NOTE ON BRINGING BABY
Bring Them. Please.
We love babies at Culture Chiropractic — it is literally in our job description. Bring your newborn, bring your toddler, bring the whole crew. We will take care of you and make sure everyone feels welcome.
In fact, many families use their postpartum mama visit as an opportunity to have their newborn checked at the same time. Two birds, one visit — and both of you leave better than you arrived.
what real moms have to say
“I owe a huge part of my of my breastfeeding success to Culture Chiropractic! It was a goal of mine to breastfeed for at least 6 months. My baby just turned 1 yesterday and we’re still going strong! In the early weeks of postpartum, Dr. Stephanie took the time to educate me about the importance of bodywork and even helped to identify a posterior tongue tie causing me discomfort and interfering with my baby’s latch. Dr. Ross assisted with post-tie release bodywork ensuring appropriate healing. If you’re looking for providers who genuinely care about your health and the health of your family, Culture Chiropractic is the place to go!”
